A Typical Week
Each morning of your holiday will begin with breakfast at 8.30-9.30am followed by a short Spanish lesson. We will set off on our excursions at 10.30am, returning at 6pm, allowing time for massage/relaxation before dinner. Some evenings we will have
Flamenco singing and dancing and an evening of Spanish poetry.
Saturday Evening
Arrival at
hotel, welcome, introductions, dinner.
Sunday
Trip to
Sierra Nevada Mountains, visiting remote Buddhist retreat centre. Picnic lunch. Spectacular scenery so do bring a camera.
Monday
We will go to
Granada and visit the magnificent
Alhambra Palace, exploring the Albaicin, the old Moorish quarters of the historic Spanish city.
Tuesday
A trip to the
Spanish Mediterranean visiting incredible dolomite caves in Nerja, explore the old town of Almuñécar, and enjoy fresh seafood at a beach restaurant. We will lounge on the beach and relax.
Wednesday
The white mountain villages – sampling local wines and cheeses – quality local crafts for sale. Then we will have a 3 – 4 hour walk through the beautiful Poquiera Valley with a delicious picnic lunch.
Thursday
Today we will go to Orgiva's local market, lunch in Orgiva and the afternoon we will explore the surrounding area, visit Chris Stewarts (Driving over Lemons) secluded valley.
Friday
We will go to Fuente Vaqueros,
Lorca's birthplace and museum. Explore his favourite haunts in
Granada, and after a liesurely lunch, we will spend 2 hours relaxing in the
Hammam (Arab Bath House)
Saturday
Breakfast – Goodbyes – Departure.
